Hi folks!!
“High Profile” has just completed its busiest summer in years. It was very memorable for all of us.
First of all, despite the intense heat, the band managed to keep its outdoor audience on Corydon Ave in Winnipeg on Friday July 9th. Then we had to play 2 weddings the next day (one in the afternoon and one in the evening.) Those were not all of the dates that we played in July.
August was wild. The Ethelbert Homecoming on August 14th almost did not happen because of the weather but once we started performing inside a large tent, the party really started. The dance floor was packed almost the whole night through. There were approximately 500 people there and they were one of the best crowds ever. Our congratulations go out to the Homecoming Committee.
Our second Corydon date on Friday August 20th was also fabulous. Despite a 40 minute rain delay, we went back on for our second set and played to the end. More importantly, the crowd that ran for cover from the rain all came back. Only in Winnipeg would the crowd stay!! Thank you everyone for supporting us right to the end of a great night. Again, the next day, we had to play a wedding, this time at the Selo Ukraina Site in Dauphin.
The band has now accepted bookings stretching into August 2011. Summer 2011 overall looks to be even more busy for “High Profile.” If you would like to book us for your special function between now and then, please let us know ASAP and we will try to accommodate wherever possible.
More news to come shortly.
Take care.
